to do

Here is my to do list before the baby comes:

- pack my bag (what do you like to take to the hospital?)
- wash all the sheets
- finish the kitchen (the backsplash is up, it just needs grout!)
- file taxes
- borrow bassinet and set it up
- clean out baby room (that was my big project for reading week until the kitchen undertaking)
- organize all my scrapbook/sewing stuff that belongs in the baby room
- freeze a few more meals (enchiladas, chili, and cooked/cubed meat more specifically)
- buy lots of bottled water and other stuff from costco
- potty train Enoch
- just kidding

I hope if I write this stuff down then I will actually get most of this done. We will see what baby has in mind.

i update

Levi had an eye appt today. It looks like his one eye is still about 15-20 degrees off, and in order for it to be unnoticeable it would need to be 8 degrees or less. The doctor said we can do surgery again, or leave it. Apparently about 30% of cases need a second surgery. I asked Levi what he wanted to do, and he voted very enthusiastically for surgery. I am positive he has no idea what he is talking about. He certainly did not like it last time. We will have to go ahead with another surgery, but when is the question.

Enoch, now, has had some eye problems. I noticed last week that his one eye was turning in, just like Levi's does. His eye, though, seemed to be really bad one day, and then fine the next. This week I haven't noticed it much. He has an eye appt on Thursday and we will see what the optometrist has to say.

In other news, here is what Levi had to say for family prayer tonight;

Dear Heavenly Father
Bless Mommy to move
Bless Mommy to play
Bless Mommy to try to be nice
......Amen.

I think I am not the only one in this family who is ready to get this baby out of me!!!

dreams

Delivery was quick and painless. No epidural was needed, or even thought of. Who needs it when there is no pain? The contractions were strong but care-free and effortless. Recovery is not even an issue. Nothing to recover from....

Oh, what a wonderful dream I had the other night! The baby was sweet and endearing, smelt so good, and it was so easy to bring into this world!! Too bad it was only a dream.

first five

The first 5 people to respond to this post will receive something made by me to you....my choice...made especially for you.

Of course there are some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done sometime this year.
4. You have no clue what it will be... it may be a story; it may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something; I may bake something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog (Only if you really want to. I will still make you something). The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!!

I was one of the lucky five recently, and this is what I got:

So amazingly cool. My friend made one for me, Josh, and each of the kids. They were SO excited to wake up to a penguin cupcake. I can't guarantee that your gift will be this great, but we will see what I come up with.....

last minute

When we first bought our house we originally planned to completely renovate the kitchen, but the odds of coming up with some good cash for that are nil to none. Since the baby is due in less than 4 weeks, we thought it was definitely time to start painting the kitchen. I regretted the decision half an hour into the emptying out the cupboards process. Now it is almost 11 and we are maybe half done, not including the backsplash mess that we have also created in the undertaking. Here are some before pics (these were taken over 2 years ago when we first moved here). Now you can wait in anticipation for the final outcome. Hopefully I will post it before I have baby pictures to showoff!!

I wish you could see how really, really ugly the backsplash is, and how dreadful the handles on the doors are. Just be glad you can't see inside the cupboards - what a mess the paint is!! (or was.....)

25

1. I really like to scrapbook but haven't done much since Enoch was born.
2. When I tell someone that I care if they floss or not, I honestly mean it. - It can affect your heart, people!!!
3. I prefer to be shy and not have to go and meet people, but am often forced to do the opposite. I am always grateful for
those I meet when I step out of my comfort zone.
4. I love Settlers of Catan. It makes me mad when I do not win. But I am over it in a minute.
5. My face turns totally red whenever I become the least bit self-conscious. I hate it. People have mistaken this for anger when that is never the case.
6. I used to consider myself part of the women's lib movement when I was in high school. I am not sure why, I really didn't know what it was about. I think I thought that just cause I liked math and science.
7. I want to go back to school eventually and become an accountant. Tax time is my favorite time of year when it comes to family finances.
8. My husband is a very kind person. He is much more so than me.
9. For real. One time he was really hurt and I just laughed at him. He had to tell me that it really hurt and that it wasn't funny and that I should stop laughing.
10. Bad habit #1 - Spitting. You would think that I chewed or something. It is disgusting. At least there is an actual diagnosis for this when I am pregnant.
11. I really love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It makes me so sad that there are so many people out there who think that God is not loving, and that Jesus is not there to be our best friend.
12. I am pretty grouchy when I am pregnant. But I think I am easy to get along with at all other times.
13. My face it totally crooked. I wish it wasn't. I heard once that all beautiful people have very symmetrical faces. That rules me out.
14. Bad habit #2 - I am really messy and always have clothes all over the bedroom. I never make my bed, except for when my mother in law comes to visit. Once she offered to make my bed and I was so embarrassed.
15. I think it would be cool to write children's stories. I know a great artist who could illustrate them for me. I would want to write clever, fun ones that rhyme. They are my favorite ones to read to my kids.
16. I have travelled to Asia twice and throughly enjoyed both visits. I have the itch to travel more but know it won't be done for awhile. When I go it will be to the mediterranean.
17. I think I was a fairly easy child to raise and hope my kids take after me in that respect.
18. My kid's favorite thing to do with me is play "Puppet Show." This consists of me putting puppets on my hands and feet and acting out little plays. Billy the Goat is the biggest hit around here. I hate to say it, but I hate playing Puppet Show. I was never one for make believe. I prefer playing memory, catch, or coloring.
19. I love the feeling of physical exhaustion from working out, hiking, or something similar. I hate it from housework.
20. I want to have a real big garden one day and live mostly off my own food. I'll add a chicken or two if I am really brave.
21. Bad habit #3 - I used to have mild to moderate road rage, but I think I am overcoming this one. It helps to have kids in the car and to leave 5 minutes early.
22. I used to teach piano lessons to little kids. I loved it.
23. I gain 5 more pounds with every pregnancy than the one before it. Nice.
24. When I read a book I become the main character. That makes for careful book choosing, cause not much is worse than feeling like a criminal for a week.
25. In 25 years I hope to have no mortgage, have a few grandkids, live somewhere warmer, and to be ready to celebrate being married for 32 years.

down time

The dear little kidlets have been sick this week. I thought we were very lucky to go all the way through January with nothing. It seemed as though everyone else was sick then. Now that everyone else is no longer sick, we are sick here at the Stone house. So much for having a social life!

On the plus side of things, Enoch was at least smart enough to tell me his fever and pains have advanced to his ears. How nice to have a kid who can say where the hurt is so that I knew to take him in to the docs!!

fhe review

Tonight's Family Home Evening lesson was about the prophet. We talked about what a prophet is, who the prophet is, and who his helpers are. Afterwards, as we were sitting around a bowl of popcorn I asked Levi to tell me who the prophet is and who is helpers are. He answered quickly, "President Monson, President Uchdorf, and ................(pause), the bald guy."
