am I ready?
Today after my doctor's appt I decided to stop by the local elementary school and check out their kindergarten. I have not been able to decide what I would like to do. Levi is a November baby, and could start this year or next year. Seeing the classroom made me real excited for Levi. They have all these fun play centers that he would just LOVE. After talking to the kindergarten teacher, who seems really nice and experienced, I decided to register Levi. Even though its done, I can still decide over the summer if I want him to stay home for another year or not. Is it Levi who won't be ready, or is it me??

I can't believe you have a child that can legally attend grade school. Holy smokes we're old!
2 years of Kindergarten is also a possibility. I considered that with my boy since he was youngest in the class and... a boy. I was seriously considering another year until the end of Kindergarten when the light turned on and he did great and went on to first grade. I say put him in and see how he does. Once you have the baby... YOU'll be ready for him to move on :-)
I think you should HOME SCHOOL and keep on having kids and kids and kids, just like Duggar mom does!
And, no, I won't be the babysitter when they institutionalize you.
I am still not ready/really needing my kids to be in school. But in the morning, I am so glad when Lincoln heads off to school!!! And I can't wait for next year for Oliver!
Anna will start kindergarten this year and she is SO excited about it and I know she'll love it, I am totally the one freaking out about it! :) And I hope that baby comes soon for you! I have gone over my due date with both of my babies so far and probably will again with this one. Watching that due date come and go is so not fun! Here's hoping to a baby this weekend for you! :)
I wouldn't do it. I really REALLY have been glad that I waited a year for Kaia (and she was more than ready academically). All the teachers have agreed with me, too. I have never met someone who wishes they had put their child in earlier, but I've met MANY who regret putting their child in at 4 (my mom included). Call if you want reasons etc. But really, what good could out-weigh another year in a love-filled home?
I am planning on putting Benjamin is this year. I think he is ready. I am also ready for him to be in school. He loves playschool and is really looking forward to going to school more often.
It will always be hard to send your first to kindgergarten...even if they are VERY ready. What's even harder is to send them on the bus. I cried Jaden's first day!
Oh, and take Castor oil. 2 Tbsp in a chocolate milkshake should do the trick. It worked for me on my due date! It didn't taste that bad in the milkshake and kicked in a couple hours later!
